WHAT WE DO: OUR STAKEHOLDERS
Volunteers keeping our residents engaged, June 2022
Cheshire Home depends on the support from a number of philanthropic individuals and corporates, without whose help it would be difficult to maintain the standards and quality of the Homes.
The alumni (known as Awa) comprises ex-residents of Cheshire Home Bangalore. Their objective is to help fellow members and network among themselves to the advantage of one another.
DNA (Disability Network Alliance): Cheshire Homes India, Bangalore is a member of DNA (a federation of NGOs working in the field of disabilities in Karnataka).
RAWWD NGO (Rehabilitation Aids Workshop by Women with Disability): We provide space for RAWWD who make assistive devices for physically challenged individuals. We also use their support for customized aids for our residents.
Sheila Kothavala Institute for the Deaf: They run a school for hearing-impaired children. Some of these children belong to lower-income groups and cannot afford lodging and food. This is where Cheshire Homes supports these children.
The Seventh Day Adventist School (SDA): Our Physically Challenged (PC) children attend this mainstream school. The school and Cheshire Homes have worked together to build an environmental-friendly place for them to study.
Association of People with Disabilities (APD): We are also associated with APD for testing procurement of hearing aids at subsidized rates.
Cheshire Homes India National Council: This is a federation of all Cheshire Homes in India. We meet annually to share our progress and activities.
